I LOVE U UNTIL THE AIRPORT

“Honey, I’ll miss you.” Sunny said to me sadly. Sunny was one of my girl friend. She was from Japan. Sunny was her name in Bali and I didn’t know what her Japan name was. She came to Bali last month. Actually, she came to Bali just for holiday.
“Yeah, I’ll miss you too so much honey.” I said while kissing her head softly. We were at Ngurah Rai Airport.
“But, I don’t believe you.” She said while spoiled hanging.
“Why you don’t believe me?” I teased her.
Actually she was older than me. She was thirty years old and I was twenty five years old. But she made me fascinated. I loved much her eyes, hair and skin. Although we were different five years old but she looked like twenty years old.
“We are far. I’ll be in Japan and you are here. We just meet once a year. Huuuffftttt, I don’t want to go honey.”
“Sstttttt,” I covered her mouth with the index finger. “Don’t be fool. Your job is waiting you there. Don’t forget to call me after you arrive in Japan.” I continued.
“Ok!” Sunny hugged and kissed me.
“Sayonara! Take care! I love you so much.” I said.

David is my name. I’m from one of a beautiful village in West Sumatra. But, my fate brought me to a beautiful paradise, Bali. I was working in one of famous hotel here. Basically, I couldn’t speak English well although I took language major when I was Senior High School. Actually, there were three majors in my middle school, namely: Social, Science and Language major. There were 15 hours to study English in a week. After that, I also studied Japanese and Indonesian literature. Unfortunately, I seldom came in and studied in the class. I was present but I was too lazy to join with my class. So, I knew English and practiced it when I worked in this hotel.
When I put my application letter at this hotel, actually I didn’t have basic in English. My boss was very friendship and charming. He gave me a conversation book. He asked me to learn the book and practice it step by step. Then, he said that “the only good is knowledge and the only evil is ignorance.” I think he took from Socrates’ quotes. After that, he said that: “No actions, nothing happens. Take actions, miracle happens!!” Yes, of course this was a quote also.
“You must remember David, Genius is 1% Inspiration and 99% is perspiration.”
“Yes, sir! Thanks for your suggestions and your book anyway!” I said my thanks.
“Don’t mention it. I just want my employees can be better for the future.” He added.
Every time I read the book. I said to my heart that “I come here for my success and career”. Although I didn’t continue my study to university but I believed I could do that. Never say never if you don’t try. Other people could do anything, why I couldn’t. Then, I believed that “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” I took it from Eleanor Roosevelt.
I thought it was really stupid if people couldn’t speak English in this era. Yap, it was including of me. Day by day I passed it. I thought I needed to practice it directly with the guests.

“Do you have any rooms?” I heard soft voice asked my friend, Fredi, in the receptionist table. I was sitting next to him. I looked at her face and I was amazing to see her. She was really cute.
“Yes, sure Miss. Do you want single, double or twin room?” Fredi asked her.
“Single please!” she answered.
“What room does you like?” Fredi asked more.
“First class, please!” By the way, is it including breakfast?”
“Yes, sure. Anyway, how long will you be staying?”
“Mmmm, two weeks. I want to know how about the dinner?
“Yeah, it’s including dinner also.”
“What time is breakfast?” she asked again.
“It’s about 7.00 am.”
“And how about the dinner?”
“It’s at 7.30 pm.”
“How much is it for a night?”
“It’s RP. 2.000.000”

“Wow, u’re really great. I’m really proud to you.” I said it to Fredi.
“Hahaha...I don’t think so. Did you know every time I used to ask these questions to the guests? So, I think it’s not too great.”
“But so far, yes.”

“Hey sir!” I said hello to my big boss.
“Hey David! How are you doing?” my boss asked me.
“Hmmmmm, so far so good sir. And what about you?”
“I’m OK David. Well, I think your English is good.
