CAUSATIVE

Causative is the sentence used to ask other people to do something. There are two kinds of causative, namely: have (has/had), get (gets/got). The object of “get” and “have” causative can be person or thing. When the object is a person called Active Causative but when the object is a thing called Passive Causative.
1.      get (gets/got)” causative with person as object
For example:
a.      He will get Miss. Luphz to accompany him to the party tomorrow.
S          get         O             to infinitive

b.      Yesterday, she got the woman to wash the shirt.
S    got                   O       to infinitive

c.       She gets her servant to clean the house.
S     gets                  O        to infinitive

f.        My mom gets me to make a tea.
S        gets  O to infinitive

g.      They get me to do exercise.
S       get  O   to infinitive
So, the form of “get (gets/got)” causative is:

S + get (gets/got) + O (person) + to infinitive

2.      “have/had” causative with person as object

S       had   O      V1

e.      I have you take a bath soon.
S have O     V1

 S + have/had + O(Person) + V1

So, the form of “have/had” causative is:

3.      “get/have” causative with thing as object (the meaning is passive)
For example:
a.      I get my mobile phone repaired.
S get          O                     V3

b.      We must have the floor cleaned as soon as possible.
S               have     O             V3

c.       I had my long hair cut last Saturday.
S had         O           V3

h.      He got the chicken cooked.
S    got      O              V3

i.        She gets a glass of tea drunk.
S    gets           O            V3

So, the form of “have/get” causative with thing as object is:
